The Risen Jesus bestowing the Holy Spirit

At VESPERS V. O God, make speed to save me. R. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. Come. Ps. 128 Happy are they all who fear the LORD, and who follow in his ways! You shall eat the fruit of your labor; happiness and prosperity shall be yours.Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house, your children like olive shoots round about your table. The man who fears the LORD shall thus indeed be blessed. The LORD bless you from Zion, and may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. May you live to see your children's children; may peace be upon Israel. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. Ant. Come, Holy Spirit, finger of God Most High; Paraclete, kindle the light of heaven, pour your love into our hearts, that we might be made worthy to share in the kingdom. Alleluia.

Chapter The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Thanks be to God. R. May the grace of the Holy Spirit be with you, Alleluia, alleluia; V. that our hearts may be made a dwelling place for him, Alleluia, allelia. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. May the grace of the Holy Spirit be with you, Alleluia, alleluia.

Hymn Come, Holy Spirit, Creator blest, And in our souls take up Thy rest; Come with Thy grace and heavenly aid To fill the hearts which Thou hast made. O comforter, to Thee we cry, O heavenly gift of God Most High, O fount of life and fire of love, And sweet anointing from above. Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts are known; Thou, finger of God's hand we own; Thou, promise of the Father, Thou Who dost the tongue with power imbue. Cindle our sense from above, And make our hearts o'erflow with love; With patience firm and virtue high The weakness of our flesh supply. Far from us drive the foe we dread, And grant us Thy peace instead; So shall we not, with Thee for guide, Turn from the path of life aside. Oh, may Thy grace on us bestow The Father and the Son to know; And Thee, through endless times confessed, Of both the eternal Spirit blest. Now to the Father and the Son, Who rose from death, be glory given, With Thou, O Holy Comforter, Henceforth by all in earth and heaven. Amen.

Ant. O sweet consoler. Magnificat My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God my Savior; for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name. He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has come to the help of his servant Israel, for he has remembered his promise of mercy, The promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. Ant. O sweet consoler and illuminating Spirit who descended upon the apostles in tongues of fire and gave them knowledge to speak in all languages, free me from all anxieties, past, present, and to come.

Hear me, Lord; And let my cry come to you. Let us pray: O God, who taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that, by the gift of the same Spirit, we may be always truly wise, and ever rejoice in his consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
